Cool Tools for Organizational Effectiveness

With the pulsing pace of change all around, an organization cannot simply keep doing things the way they have always been done. Systems and processes need refreshing to keep current with customer and market needs, financial pressures, and workforce requirements to stay at a high level of performance. Join June Mader and Nancy Jokovich for an engaging and interactive session on cool tools that can help your organization improve its effectiveness and reach great performance.

We have found that highest performing organizations are those that engage their employees to improve processes as they are closest to the problem and usually have the best ideas for improvement.  Additionally, these organizations use systemic thinking, seeing the whole with connections among issues, events, and data, rather than discrete parts.  We have adapted a set of “cool tools” these organizations use from the disciplines of

  • Baldrige Performance Excellence Program undefined a framework for organizational excellence
  • Lean Thinking undefined an approach to process simplification
  • Six Sigma undefined methods to eliminate variation in processes.

There is not a single tool that can be used in all opportunities for improvement.  We will discuss various tools under these disciplines and provide insights on which situation fits a specific tool.  Further, we will sample several tools that you may want to take back to your organizations.
