Dreamwork as Cultural Repair:

How Dreams Could Help Heal Leaders, Organizations, and Culture

Peter Metzner, MA, MPA, PCC, BCC

Date: Friday, October 23, 2026

⏰ Time: 8:30 – 10:00 AM ET

Location: Online via Zoom

(Eligible for 1.5 ICF CEUs)

Why could paying attention to dreams help heal leaders, organizations, and culture?

As Organizational Development (OD) practitioners, we know that sustainable change requires looking beneath the surface. While OD traditionally focuses on systems, strategy, and visible behaviors, organizations are deeply influenced by unconscious dynamics that shape decision-making, conflict, and resistance. When a culture focuses solely on external performance, it risks driving burnout and reactivity.

Drawing on Jungian psychology, executive coaching, and over three decades of leadership development, Peter Metzner will introduce us to dreamwork as a practical OD lens. Far from a mystical exercise, exploring dreams offers a tangible way to increase self-awareness, reduce leadership blind spots, and build healthier organizational cultures.

Key Questions We Will Explore:

  1. What can dreams reveal about leadership, organizational life, and the unconscious forces that influence behavior and change?

  2. How can paying attention to dreams strengthen self-awareness, emotional intelligence, creativity, and resilience without becoming psychotherapy?

  3. What role might reflection, symbolism, and the unconscious play in helping organizations become more adaptive, humane, and psychologically healthy?

What You’ll Take Away:

You will leave with a fresh perspective on leadership development: the understanding that sustainable organizational change begins with the inner development of its leaders. You will also walk away with several simple, immediate practices to increase dream recall and reflective awareness in your own life and practice.
