Changing in 2024: The Change SIG Is; Are You Desiring a Change, Too?

(8:30-10:30am - bring your own coffee/tea and snacks).

Desiring to make a big change in 2024?  A change that might impact other people?

You are in good company.  After 20 years leading the TODN Change SIG, Mary Charles has decided to pursue a new dream.

In the first presentation of 2024, Mary Charles will review the history and mission of the Change SIG and share her decision to move in another direction.

As a participant, you will be invited to consider situations where you have had to make changes that impacted other people and what you learned in the process.

How will the Change SIG leadership transition be rolled out?

What are ways in which can explore the questions most relevant to those working with personal, professional, and organizational change?

Are there changes you are want to make in 2024? What will you share with us and what would you like to know more about?

Mary Charles Blakebrough, MS/OD

Mary Charles is a DESIGNING YOUR LIFE (DYL)Certified Coach. She helps people find answers to "what they want to be when they grow up," using the "Designing Your Life" process and tools created by Stanford professors Bill Burnett & Dave Evans. The coaching process is a collaboration that goes from determining where her clients are to their creating, choosing, and moving forward on taking the next step in their  life design.

After completing an MS/OD from American University/NTL, she helped found TODN, and is a past president as well as the 20-year host of the TODN Change SIG. She has a passion for creativity and innovation. McBreakthrough, her company’s name includes what she wants most for her clients, a breakthrough in their careers and lives.

Mary Charles was a systems engineer at IBM for 25 years. After retirement, she contracted with IBM and coached 1300+ employees one-on-one and co-designed, conducted forty workshops on resumes, interviewing, networking, MBTI® team building, and navigating IBM's major web-based career development initiative, in both classroom and teleconference settings. During that time she was also co-founder & president of the Association for Psychological Type International (APTi) eChapter.

She is also passionate about using energetic systems to lower stress and release trapped emotions. Mary Charles is a certified EMOTION CODE Practitioner and  has completed classwork for the BODY CODE Practitioner certification. The Body Code process uncovers root causes of discomfort and imbalances in her clients’ bodies.

Susan L. Westbrook, PhD, PCC

Susan spent 3 decades in education before moving her focus to healing, coaching, and writing.  As a public school educator and University professor, Susan was committed to creating change in the classroom and in educational systems.  That work culminated in Susan leaving North Carolina State University to found and direct a charter high school in North Carolina.

Susan’s current passion is working with individuals and organizations seeking substantive change that will move them boldly toward their dreams.  A professionally trained (CTI, 2006) and certified coach (ICF), Susan is also a Reiki Master and the author of The Five Tibetans Yoga Workshop: Tone Your Body and Transform Your Life (Findhorn Press 2014).  Blending traditional coaching techniques and spiritual practice is often the magic elixir that allows her clients to experience the personal freedom and change they desire.

Big dreams require big containers of encouragement and creative partnership. Susan offers her clients the support they need to transcend the “musts, shoulds, and have tos,” avoid the “perpetual transformation” trap, and create lives that move them toward the Futures of their dreams.
